What Is The
Microdermabrasion Procedure

Preparation:
The skin is cleansed to remove any makeup, oils and dirt. The practitioner may perform a skin analysis to customise the treatment. -
Exfoliation:
A handheld device is used to gently exfoliate the skin. There are two main types of microdermabrasion devices:
1. Crystal Microdermabrasion - This device sprays fine crystals (such as aluminium oxide or sodium bicarbonate) onto the skin to abrade the surface and a vacuum simultaneously removes the crystals and dead skin cells.
2. Diamond-Tip Microdermabrasion - This device uses a diamond-tipped wand to manually exfoliate the skin while a vacuum suctions away the debris. -
Suction:
Throughout the exfoliation process, a vacuum component suctions away dead skin cells and exfoliation particles, promoting circulation and stimulating collagen production. -
Post-Treatment Care:
After the procedure, a soothing toner and moisturiser are applied to the skin. Sunscreen is typically recommended to protect the freshly exfoliated skin from UV damage.
